Principal’s Report (2020 – 2021)

Unusual circumstances call for unusual planning and execution.

As per the Guidelines issues by HRD Ministry, A REVISED ALTERNATIVE ACADEMIC CALENDAR was prepared for the 2020-21 Session.



APRIL 2020

  • The new session commenced on 03.04.2020. A new mode of Teaching-Learning (ONLINE) was adopted due to the Lockdown. Videos of Lessons were shared with students by Teachers. Hence, in spite of the Pandemic, Education was the Top Priority. All stakeholders adapted to the New Mode of Instruction with positivity.
  • The month was also marked by celebration and observing of special days – Mahavir Jayanti (06.04.2020), Good Friday (10.04.2020) and Ambedkar Jayanti (14.04.2020).


MAY 2020 – JUNE 2020

  • Summer Vacation was welcomed to take stock of the changes and transformations in life due to Covid -19. But students were engaged in constructive activities as Teachers prepared to assign week-wise Holiday Homework from 30.05.2020 to 07.2020. The tasks were based on Art Integrated Learning: a Trans-Disciplinary Innovation in Pedagogy – assimilating all subjects.


JULY 2020

  • School Re-opened after Summer Vacation on 07.2020.
  • From sending videos of Lessons on WhatsApp, we graduated to Live ONLINE LESSONS Via ZOOM. This was done after Detailed Deliberations, Brainstorming Sessions, Preparing and Sharing Teachers’ Manual for Online Teaching.



  • In spite of the grim Pandemic situation, we kept our spirits and morals high by conducting online Special Assemblies for Id-ul-Zuha (01.08.2020), Raksha Bandhan (03.08.2020), Janmashtami (12.08.2020), Independence Day (15.08.2020).
  • An online meeting to discuss the Modalities of holding the Mid-Term Assessment

was organized on 17.08.2020.



  • Come September and it was time to acknowledge the contributions of Teachers in the building of a nation. Teacher’s Day Celebrations (05.09.2020) were held online and glowing tributes were paid to this noble profession and those who choose it as their vocation.
  • All classes paid their respect to the Memory of our dear Founder, the Late J.D. Tytler by organizing online programs marked by Speeches, Poems and Hymns/Devotional songs on his Remembrance Day (13.09.2020).




  • Students and Teachers planned an online Assembly to express their reverence for the Father of the Nation on Gandhi Jayanti (02.10.2020).
  • The Mid-Term online assessments were scheduled between 08.09.2020 to 18.09.2020. Considering the stressful situations prevailing, we made the whole proceeding student – centric by assessing two subjects each within two separate time periods.

Results of the Assessment were shared later with Parents online. Apart from this, Teachers also interacted with Parents on a regular basis.

  • After the Academic Activities came the Festivities. Online celebrations of Dussehra (25.10.2021), Id-ul-Milad (30.12.2020) and Valmiki Jayanti (31.10.2020) kept the spirits high.




  • The celebratory spirit was further sustained with Online programs organized for Diwali, Children’s Day, Bhai Dooj (14.11.2020) to (16.11.2020). Students learnt to celebrate within the safe environments of their homes following the Covid




  • A special assembly for Christmas (online) on 23.12.2020 warmed the hearts mitigating to some extent atleast, the stark and cold reality of Covid related tragedies of the year gone by.
  • The last day of the year became special
  • Staff Meeting (31.12.2020) was convened online to discuss the Action Plan for 2021

in the wake of Covid-19 Pandemic.



  • Winter Break gave us the opportunity to refresh and rejuvenate ourselves for the

New Year (01.01.2021 to 10.01.2021).

  • Online classes resumed after the Winter Break on 01.2021.
  • Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervor (26.01.2021) with a colorful, cultural bonanza (online).
  • Periodic Online assessment continued from 01.2021 to 30.01.2021.



  • In preparation for the upcoming End-of-the Term Examinations, online assessments kept us busy on 02.2021, 13.02.2021 and 20.02.2021.
  • Pre-Board Practical examinations (stds. X & XII) were slated to be conducted between 02.2021 to 1.3.2021.

MARCH 2021

  • To test the all-round Academic progress of students in the challenging times, a comfortable schedule of Online Examinations was set between 03.2021 to 16.03.2021 for classes I to IX & XI.

Ø  Online classes continued till 12.03.2021.

  • Preparatory Leave for Pre-Boards was given to X & XII from 13.03.2021 to 17.03.2021.
  • Pre-Boards (stds. X & XII) were conducted online spanning between 03.2021 to 30.03.2021 as per the date sheet.
  • X and XII proceeded on Study Leave from 31.03.2021
  • Declaration of Result for classes Lower Nursery to IX & Xi was done on 22.03.2021 as Report Cards were sent to Parents online.


APRIL 2021

  • The New Academic Session began once again in online mode on 04.2021 for Lower Nursery to IX, XI & XII.


P.S. Like mentioned earlier, unprecedented circumstances require unprecedented ways to deal with them.


Due to the gravity of the Pandemic Situation, Board Examinations could not be held in all their entirety for stds. X & XII.


CBSE formulated a special policy for ‘Tabulation of Board Results’ with stringent guidelines for the affiliated schools to do the needful.


Subject Teachers concerned along with our IT Experts left no stone unturned to compile and upload the Tabulated Results in a fair and reliable manner. The process was completed well within the time period set by the CBSE.


‘Board Results’ were declared in July 2021. Our senior most students were now ready to embark on the next phase of their Academic Journey.
